- We will not hide these truths from our children; we will tell the next generation about the glorious deeds of the Lord, about his power and his mighty wonders.
I am the youth pastor at Chandler Friends Church. I have been here for 2 years, and I have a beautiful wife, Amber, and two awesome kids Aiden, 2, and Adaline, 3 months.
I grew up in a small Kansas town, Haviland, and when I say small, I mean really small. There were between 500-600 people. We had a post office, one restaraunt, a gas station, a high school, and Barclay college.
When I was growing up, I went to church, and did all the church things. It wasn't until I was 14 when I really dedicated my life to Christ. I don't know what it was, but something clicked. I just realized that I needed something more in my life. At 14, I needed to make a choice where my life was going to be heading.
When I was in high school, I felt that the Lord was calling me to become involved in youth ministry. I have a real passion for youth and that the decisions youth make now are decisions that could change their lives forever.
It did mine.
After high school, I had a choice of colleges. I could either pursue my sports and go to a college that does not honor and glorify God, or go to a small Bible college that would give me the training and be a great environment for me to be in. I chose to go to Barclay College, a small 4-year Bible college that was located in the town that I grew up in. There I met my wife and I wouldn't have changed anything in the world! God is good and He has a plan for my life, and it's a great plan! He's got a plan for your life too! God is good!!
